As the weather warms up this month, Kono Sauvignon Blanc out of New Zealand will be on sale. Kono is a refreshing wine full of citrus and gooseberry notes. These fruits lead the way into a clean acidic finish that’s I really enjoy on these warm Spring Days.
Another lineup that’s enjoyable all year round is the Decoy. Whether you’re looking for a full or light-bodied red or a refreshing rose, they’ve got you covered. I find the Decoy Rose to embody many typical French Provence Style Roses. With many fruit-forward flavors, it finishes dry and crisp. On the other hand, Decoy’s Cabernet Sauvignon is a full-bodied red. The lush fruits are followed by deep tannins with oak and spice.
Building up from the Decoy Cabernet Sauvignon, a new we just brought in is the Austin Hope Cabernet Sauvignon. This Cab is top shelf, and the price point and taste reflect it. Coming from Paso Robles, this Cab expresses aromas of black currant and cherries with a hint of smoky spices. This complex wine is full-bodied perfectly balanced between rich tannins and bright acidity. I think everyone deserves to treat themselves after going through everything recently. So if you’re thinking about treating yourself, this is the wine for you!
Moving away from wines, I find spiked seltzers extremely enjoyable in this weather.
