Happy September! Hopefully we start to see come cooler weather soon! Until then, rose, bubbles, and white wines sound pretty ideal to me. Here are some of my favorite specials for the month as well as my favorite new wines!
We’ve got two new Greek wines which are hitting the spot right now!
Santo Winery Santorini Assyrtiko is an amazing white Greek wine! Santorini’s volcanic terroir leads to a very drinkable wine with lots of minerality, citrus and earth notes, as well as a good amount of acidity. This wine will go great with lighter meals such as fish or even a chicken dish. For $27.99 this wine is sure to spruce up your dinner party!
Skouras Zoe Rose is another new Greek wine I’m excited to be carrying! This comes from the Peloponnesos region, just southwest of Athens. I found this wine to be dominated by grapefruit and strawberry notes on the palate. This wine has a nice dry finish and is extremely easy to drink. At $14.99, it is an easy go-to after work wine!
If you’re ready for the cold weather and red wine drinking season, we’ve also added to our Italian section. Petra Zingari Toscana is a delicious red blend of Syrah, Merlot, Sangiovese, and Petit Verdot. This Tuscan red is medium bodied, medium dry, with a smooth finish that contains mild tannins. I liked the dark oaky notes as well as the cherry, strawberry, and clove. For $18.99 this is a great dinner wine!
The Gruet Sparkling wines are some of the best valued bubbles out there! These are done in method champenoise, making a traditional style bubbly that goes great with just about anything. To make things even better, they’re on sale for $13.99 for the entire month of September. We have the Brut, Brut Rose, and Blanc de Noirs in stock!
